HOLIDAY CLUB

Mrs Parrett and Mrs Blenkinsop, two of our teaching assistants are interested in running a holiday club at school for the first 3 weeks of the Summer holidays, commencing on Monday 20 July.
These are two very experienced staff members who know the school well. They would run a range of activities including: Sports, Forest School, Computers, Art and Craft, Educational Games and much more.
For those looking for child care or maybe for those of you who wish to add some extra activities to the long holiday this could be the answer. Obviously we need to ensure that there are sufficient numbers in order to run successfully.
Please contact the school office if you are interested, and let us know your child's name, year group, which weeks you are interested in, and the times your would prefer. We estimate the cost to be £20.00 daily.

By the time you read this Mrs Broadbridge, Miss Price, nine Year 6 children and myself will be in Sweden. We are visiting a school in the suburbs of Stockholm as part of the Commenius Project. We will hopefully have lots of photos and memories to share with you on our return.
After School Club
Please note that some clubs run by school staff change this half term. Clubs run by Adrianno and his coaches will continue until the end of term. These include :
Monday KS1 football – 7 sessions @£1.50 per session = £10.50 (those children who paid £7.50 for last half term have 2 sessions owing to them so the cost for them is £10.50 - £3.00 = £7.50)
Wednesday Summer Sports (KS1 and 2) – 7 sessions @ £1.50 = £10.50 (those children who paid £7.50 for last half term have one session owing so please deduct £1.50 from the £10.50 = £9.00)
Thursday KS2 football – 7 sessions @ £1.50 = £10.50 (those children who paid £7.50 for last half term have one session owing so please deduct £1.50 from the £10.50= £9.00)
Please could you put payment for these activities in a clearly marked envelope and hand to Mrs Hewitt or Mrs Evans in our school office – thank you.

PGL Visit
Later this month our entire Year 6 are visiting PGL Centre at Tregoyd, near Brecon. They will spend the weekend doing outdoor and adventurous activities accompanied by Miss Price and Mrs Parrett. This is an annual event, I hope all the children (and adults) will enjoy this experience.

Friday 19 June we have agreed is non-uniform day to be organised by the PTFA. Children come to school in their own clothes and in return bring to school an item for the school fete e g. a prize for the tombola stall. Can I remind you all that children will still need to take part in all school activities that day so high heels and exotic hairstyles/jewellery are not advised.

On Friday 12 June we will be recording a CD. It has been four years since we recorded our Christmas CD, which was very popular. This time Mrs Oakley is organising something a little different. All children will be involved (the whole school will perform together but there will also be items from KS1, KS2, choir, soloists and instrumentalists). We have a wealth of musical talent which will be brought together in one CD. I know you will enjoy listening to it and any money raised will go towards improving music provision further.
Not too many cooks...

I would like to say thank you to Izzy and Katie Kinnairds’s grandmother who has donated a Baby Belling cooker to us. This is something we have been wanting for some time so that we can have larger numbers of children cooking at any one time. Mrs Cooper already has plans for cooking later this week.
PTFA Car Boot cancelled
Yet again our car boot sale for today has had to be cancelled due to the weather! We'll let you know of the new date in due course.

The classes for the next academic year are as follows:-
The year 2 group will be taught in a new classroom being created over the Summer holidays. This new classroom will be created by removing the current wall between the library and resources room off the hall.
We will continue to be supported by our four teaching assistants. Mrs Davies who will support Reception Class. Mrs Blenkinsop who will support KS1. Miss Jeyasingham and Mrs Parrett will support KS2.
As Mrs Oakley is moving to full time teaching Year 1 PPA will be covered by either myself, some sports coaching and some Forest School activities led by Mrs Parrett.
If you are a parent of a current Year 3 child you will see that once again Year 4 will be split next year. Attached to this letter you will have an appointment time, in which you can discuss with us your child’s placement.
I am sure that everyone will be very pleased with the class arrangements for next year but should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
